Keeps radio clean and dry. I kinda did not like it at first because it does not stay open and was hard to control my radio in the boat due to that. Now i have learned that if you open it and pull the top right side out and then the left, the cover comes off effortlessly. I usually do this while out in the boat and as soon as boat is on trailer i just snap it back on.
