Bought this amp for the price, low risk investment. Just finished wiring it up to two Hifonics HFX12D4’s at 4 ohms (3.7 to be exact) and I have to say the specs were overrated as expected. Doing some very rough math with a multimeter I came out with about 100 watts at 4 ohms. (not 100% accurate, didn’t use a sine wave hz tone and went with average volt output)Despite the lack in advertised power the amp seems to function very well, and it looks good doing it. After about half an hour of what I’d say was pretty heavy use it was still cool to the touch and I haven’t noticed any quality issues with it at all.Overall if you’re looking for an amp that will push around 200 watts at 4 ohms I’d say this will work for you. Right now however, my 400 watt 12’s are starving for more power. Soundstorm doesn’t seem like a bad company, the quality and appearance is there. It’s just missing the power.
