This amp shipped and arrived quickly. On arrival my biggest surprise was the shear size of this thing! It barely fit on top of my 10″ ported box. But it has to be that big because this amp is not fan cooled, but instead they used the mass amount of material as a giant heat sink. This means that yes, the amp will get hot, but that is just its way of expelling the heat. The amp will actually go into prptection mode when the surface reaches about 170°F. I have this amp hooke up to a 2000 watt Quantum Audio subwoofer and it powers it just fine. The only flaw with this amp is that the positive and ground hook up spots have plastic sidewalls to keep them from touching, but this makes it so that you must bend the connectoron your wire if you have the hefty brass ones that usually come with any 4 gauge or lower wiring kit. Other then that this is a great amp for the price and ssl has out done themselves.P.S. Do not try to cook an egg on this amp… I did and it didn’t just not work, thats how i found out the protection mode temp (which by the way I had the thing hooked up to a car charger with input level maxed and bass boost maxed for about an hour before it finally went into protection mode), but also turns out the evolution print under the SSL logo doesn’t like to stay on haha.
