I did not expect such huge sound out of such a small package! I mounted this puppy under my seat in my Jeep Wrangler TJ (had to cut a little metal out of the front seat supports) and it produces clean hitting lows at more than enough volume for my tastes. I listen to mostly hard rock/technical metal/technical progressive and this SSL LOPRO8 is allowing me to feel the music. I am driving this powered sub with a Soundstream MPQ-4US which has a separate Bass out and level control. This unit also comes with a remote to adjust level, but I did not need it. There are a few EQ and driving level control options on the sub to tune it to your equipment and environment. I am feeding the sub with 8 Ga stranded copper from the battery with a local ground. Using an 80 amp breaker at the battery which also feeds my main amp. The Sub turns On and Off with a typical ignition power feed from the existing radio circuit (most vehicles have this). If you want to relocate the organs of people in vehicles next to you this obviously wont be able to do that, but if you need a powered sub to fit in a tight place and really provide more than adequate bass levels this would seem to be a good choice. This sub will let you push it too hard if you allow it, and could contribute to premature failure… use common sense as with any audio system.
