Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.
There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.
Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?
The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").
The lowest impedance accepted by this amplifier is 1 ohm. Amplifiers that are 1 ohm stable produce the most power possible from the amp. An amplifier capable of delivering power at a 1 ohm load is usually reserved for serious subwoofers that can handle the power. Please note this particular amp needs a healthy electrical system including a low gauge wire capable of delivering the necessary current.
Class A/B
Class A/B amplifiers have long been known for their ability to produce great quality sound while performing more efficiently than pure Class A amplifiers. We have developed a specific linear circuitry that further reduces distortion while increasing both sound quality and power output.
High and Low Level Inputs
An amplifier with both high-level and low-level inputs provides flexibility by allowing you to build an audio system using virtually any standard factory or aftermarket source unit. High-level (speaker level) inputs accept the signal from the speakers, while low-level (RCA) inputs accept the signal from the pre-amp outputs of the source unit.
MOSFET
MOSFET stands for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor. MOSFETs are used either as a switch or to amplify a signal. MOSFETs are superior to other FETs, because they require less current to operate, which makes them better suited for car audio.
Protection
If the amplifier gets too hot, the thermal protection circuit turns the amp off and allows the amp to cool down before turning it back on. If a speaker fails causing an electrical short, the protection circuit will automatically cut the output and remain in that state until the short is resolved. These safety features give you peace of mind knowing the amplifier is constantly monitoring conditions to protect itself.
Subwoofer Level Control
The ability to boost or attenuate the sub level when an amp and subwoofer are connected to the subwoofer pre-amp output.
Variable Bass Boost
Variable Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it.
Variable Gain Control
Variable Gain Control lets you balance the amps output with the speakers or subs the amp is driving. To much gain will lead to distortion and to little will lead to clipping.
Variable Low Pass Filter
Variable low-pass filter gives you control over the frequencies that pass through to the subwoofer.
1000W RMS IGNORE MAX WATTS RATINGS KEEP @ 4 OHMS FOR BEST RESULTS
I purchased this amp to temporarily replace my Clarion DPX1001.2 while it's in the shop. I didn't want to spend over $100 and I needed around 1000 watts RMS to keep my Audiobahn A1206T happy. The sub is a dual 4ohm voicecoil model rated at 1100 watts RMS and 2000w max. I found a refurbished 2500M for $85 shipped, not a bad deal and it looks new.
Something to keep in mind with newer cheap amps like this SSL/Soundstorm amp and others like Power Acoustik or Planet Audio is that you're never going to touch that max rating and it's not a continuous/RMS rating so ignore it. The figure you're looking for is what the amp can do RMS at 4 ohms and that's what the wattage is for your amp. In this case, about 1000 watts RMS, SSL's website rates it at 1250 RMS. Both are generous figures for a $100 amplifier but let's just say that's what it can do at 4 ohms. It might be able to push more power at 2 ohms but then you start adding more stress on the amp and that's where these amps start going downhill.
I have my amp set up for a 2 ohm load because it's a single channel amp and my sub is a dual 4 ohm. Obviously, I wouldn't dare run a cheap 1000 watt amp at 1 ohm because you're just asking for thermal protection to kick in if it plays at all. So, 2 ohm load on this amp with the gain set at just over half because that's what I got before I started getting audible distortion out of the sub. I played it for about 20 minutes with some rock and hip hop music. I tested some older tracks which are bass heavy but don't stress the amp too much.
The tracks I tested with were: Deftones-Change Bambu-Like us 8 Ball & MJG ft. DJ Quick- Buck Bounce. You can listen to them on YouTube.
These tracks provide bursts of bass but really don't stress the amp too much even at a 2 ohm load, the amp barely got warm. I was surprised. At 2 ohms you can get some pretty serious power, at least 1100 watts RMS because it hit just like my Clarion(which is an Arc Audio rebrand) which is rated at 1000 watts RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms. I have to give this amp my approval at 2 ohms. As long as you keep it reasonable it's going to play loud and hard.
Then I got a little curious and started listening to some Bass Mekanik. The album is Sonic Overload and the track is called "Rule the Universe".
After about 20 to 30 minutes of solid bass lines and 30hz tones the amp never gave up or went into thermal protect. I was honestly surprised since I cranked the gain up a little. I'm not sure how much longer it could have gone and I'm glad I didn't try to test that out because when I opened the trunk and touched the amp, it was really, really hot. Bass music or anything with a long bass tone should be kept to a minimum. Bass heavy rap like 2 Chainz or whatever people listen to these days might also fall into that category depending on the track.
I don't listen to much bass music anymore these days but every once in a while I like to exercise my subs with some Bass Mekanik nostalgia. I'm happy with this amp and for $100 it gave me the 1000 watts RMS that I was looking for. It's pretty heavy and will take up some trunk space, it's built pretty decent and really didn't shut down for about an hour straight at 2 ohms which is what surprised me the most. This amp can go fairly hard at 2 ohms on dynamic music. Bass music, not so much but as they say you get what you pay for. 1000 watts RMS for just under $100 is a steal considering in the 90's, we payed an arm and a leg for 1000 RMS watts.
PROS: Cheap Heavy/big heatsink Plastic side panels. Good for keeping from shorting out on wiring. Seems like about 1100 watts RMS @ 2ohms Stays fairly cool at 2 ohms with dynamic music WOW, actually 2 ohm stable
CONS: Not CEA-2006 compliant but expected in this price/power range Weird angled connects Lame MAX WATTAGE printed on front of amp Gets REALLY HOT under stress Cooling fan would have been nice Don't expect more than 1100 RMS watts @ 2 ohms or you'll be disappointed 2500 watts MAX....LOL
UPDATE: I've had the amp for a week now and have been using it mostly on my 25 minute drives to and from work. I haven't had a chance to test it out any further than that yet but I am really amazed at how well the amp is holding up so far @ 2 OHMS. I'm giving it a beating to and from work, the amp does heat up but never shuts down and stays pretty clean. I've been listening to a track called Stop It by Juicy J and it's really giving the sub/amp a workout. I don't have any kind of testing equipment to get real numbers but it seems like the amp is putting out some really solid numbers. I'd rather be running it at 4 ohms to keep it cool and under less stress but I'll have to wait until I get another sub. For now, this amp is surprisingly good. I'll try to keep updating this review as long as I am still running the amp.

Good Amp
It only has about 46 volts rms, so around 2100 watts max at 1 ohm. But it's not one ohm stable, so at 2 ohms it's only like 1000 watts. I have it driving two 15's at 4 ohms total, so I'm only getting about 500 watts to my speakers(250 each). I've had it for about two years now and it's preformed great for me so far, given that I only have it pushing half it's max wattage. My speakers are those cheap boss 15's you can get for like $60, so I'm running them at a lower wattage on purpose since this amp and the speakers are cheapos and I don't want to push them to their limits. The bass control knob is great since you don't have to change any settings on your head unit to turn down the bass. For 100 bucks, this amp will thump people.

Under $200 bucks for 2500W of Pure Power.
First and Foremost, I'd like to say that I have always bought high end audio equipment. The amp I had in my vehicle before this one was a $500 Amp, and it was 1800W. Unfortunately, someone decided to steal just my amp and not my woofers, so I wasn't completely crap out of luck. I decided to turn to Amazon for a car amp, something I had never considered doing before, even though I use this site for practically everything. I had thought to myself "hmm, they usually have cheap as hell prices on items that I may not have heard the brand, but the quality is there, and the other user reviews definitely help." I'm sure there is an amount of bad stuff on here, but when you read reviews, much like this one, you learn a lot about how the products operate, because they are written mostly by people like you and me. The other reviews on here sum it up, it runs cool! It pounds. I have it hooked up to 2 Alpine Type R 12" DVC Woofers. The power is definitely there, and the cutout safety works every time. I listen to a lot of dubstep and even with this much power between the amp and the subs it still kicks off the safety. You have to turn your deck off and on to get it to kick in again. The nifty little thing (although I could see it as being a downside to some people) is that it comes with a control knob you can mount on your dash board that allows you to turn your subs up or down. It never turns them down all the way, but if you're getting cutout at some songs you can turn them down to avoid the issue and then turn it back up when it needs that extra kick. I've haven't blown a fuse as of yet and I've owned this thing for over three months at this point. All in all, a lot of power for a sliver of the price! Excellent buy.

Stays cool under pressure.
So I just installed this amp in a 2011 KIA SOUL and it drives 1-12 in. Pyle 2000 Watt DVC at 2ohms per voice coil in a sealed 2ft cubed box. This amp is "NICE" it has a good look, clean finish and sounds great. I have the gain set around 3/4 and the low pass set around 160 hertz. Boy we just ran it for 2 hr. strait on our way to the cabin and let me tell you it got ran loud and hard with every thing from rock to rap and so on ect... When we got there I wanted to see just how hot it was after all that and I could hold my hand on it as long as i liked no problem. I have had some other products in the past you could fry an egg on but not this amp it is one cool customer. In short if you need a good, fair priced, clean sounding amp for your low end reproduction I would wholly recommend this to any of my friends/family or anyone who likes a lot of BASS. P.s. there are pics posted of the install I did on amazon under the SSL/Evolution 2500 amp as well as under the 12 in. Pyle 2000 watt 2 ohm DVC sub.

Great Buy
I've had an ssl ev4000 before and it was a great amp. It was pushing 2 l7 12 and it was banging. I mean I could be heard from at least two blocks away. Now I have decided to downgrade to this 2500 and it works great. It will get hot but it all depends on how long you run it and how big your trunk is. But as for me I'm in a 06 Malibu ltz so it's pretty damn loud.

Good Amp
This amp shipped and arrived quickly. On arrival my biggest surprise was the shear size of this thing! It barely fit on top of my 10" ported box. But it has to be that big because this amp is not fan cooled, but instead they used the mass amount of material as a giant heat sink. This means that yes, the amp will get hot, but that is just its way of expelling the heat. The amp will actually go into prptection mode when the surface reaches about 170°F. I have this amp hooke up to a 2000 watt Quantum Audio subwoofer and it powers it just fine. The only flaw with this amp is that the positive and ground hook up spots have plastic sidewalls to keep them from touching, but this makes it so that you must bend the connectoron your wire if you have the hefty brass ones that usually come with any 4 gauge or lower wiring kit. Other then that this is a great amp for the price and ssl has out done themselves.P.S. Do not try to cook an egg on this amp... I did and it didn't just not work, thats how i found out the protection mode temp (which by the way I had the thing hooked up to a car charger with input level maxed and bass boost maxed for about an hour before it finally went into protection mode), but also turns out the evolution print under the SSL logo doesn't like to stay on haha.
