I have this thing hooked up to an alpine type X 10, running off of an alpine v-power m-1000, 1000 watt RMS amp. It definitely does what its supposed to, which is to supply your amp with a short powerful burst of energy during excessively low powerful notes. I would have given this 4 stars but it has an awkwardly annoying beep to it every time it discharges. i STRONGLY recommend a secondary battery. Something like a kinetic power cell will suit most applications. I have a medium to high current power setup so iv had to upgrade a LOT of things. Also, an ANL 300 amp fuse and fuse holder will do wonders for saving your batteries
